Visitors from our partner school in Waterfall, Lesotho came to Peniel School to work alongside pupils and staff.
The International Committee have been busy creating a logo for our partnership. This will shortly be incorporated onto our letterhead and printed stationery.
During the half term break, Miss E McKenna and Miss S Bagshaw visited our partner school, Waterfall in Qacha’s Nek, Lesotho. A magical visit once again, with our friends welcoming the teachers with open arms. Miss McKenna and Miss Bagshaw taught at Waterfall school and spent much time making resources and getting to know the children, staff and members of the community. The children enjoyed playing the parachute games and this was given to the school as a gift from Peniel school. The woolen gifts from Peniel community were thankfully received and so thank you once again for your contribution. During the summer term we will again exchange projects, this time pictures, stories and poems started by one partner school and the other school to complete them. During the international evening on Thursday 16th of June, Miss E McKenna will make a presentation about the journey. We would appreciate your support on the evening.
It was a pleasure to welcome our friends (colleagues by now) once again. The partnership between the two schools is ever developing and strengthening from term to term. During their stay, we planned and set tasks for the academic year ahead. We will be comparing and contrasting the weather and seasons of both countries and in the new year we will be participating in various Olympic Game projects. These projects will be developing the pupils’ (and staff’s) communication, numeracy and ICT skills. Whilst here, much of their time was spent in the classrooms, making observations and learning different teaching pedagogies. They also visited other nearby primary schools, they witnessed the talents of Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion’s young people and had time to socialise with families and experience Ten Pin Bowling! A big thank you to the International Committee for their efforts during the week.
During the February half term holidays, two members of staff from Peniel Community School visited our partner School in Qacha's Nek, Lesotho. Miss A Jones and Miss C Bowen once again took gifts for the pupils including Woollen clothes kindly knitted by members of Peniel Community, Rugby Balls and various other items. They taught in the lessons and played with the children at break times.
